Facilitation / Teaching

I am a facilitator and workshop leader in several organisations, as well brought in to teach at drama schools. More recently I have taught at Mountview for the past two years, working with the first years on their scene studies.

INCLUSIVITY AND WELLBEING WORK

Alongside directing I had previously been the Well-being and Equality Officer at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. This was a brand new role in looking at how as W&E Officer we could bridge the gap by providing space for students while consulting on the institutional changes needed to make drama schools more inclusive for all. This work has led to me holding space for Global Majority students acting as a third party by listening and giving feedback back areas of change to institutions. More recently I have worked with the National Youth Theatre in developing and leading their Culture workshops for their young people.

DIVERSITY SCHOOL INITIATIVE

Previously I and two directors run the Diversity School Initiative. The DSI was founded by myself, Maame Atuah and Steven Kavuma. It was set up to address under-representation, inclusivity and diversity in UK drama schools. We partnered with leading drama schools in the UK who were and are committed to improving the diversity of all kinds (including, but not limited to, race, gender, social class/socioeconomic status, disability) in their institutions. These drama schools were: Arts Educational Schools London, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, LAMDA (London Academy Music) and Drama and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
